    Introduction:
    Cause of our re-opening,we the IHAD Team,are now giving a statement regarding the events that took place in the last days.
    Hopefully we can answer a few questions to our regular users
    and work a little against the criticism from others.
    Regarding the propaganda of some other Sat Boards,we will make a statement in the future as well.

    How the drivers became part of the image:
    After we started our Blue Panel lock which worked quite ok up to 2-3 days after the start,a work-around patch became public that made it pretty much obsolete.
    After this event,DMM offered us exclusivly, a new driver for the DM500 that should become part of the CVS shortly after.
    This driver should make it possible to display jpeg files,with the DM500.

    We the Team,did put 1 and 1 together and thought,that this new driver might have something in it to help DMM protect their rights.
    So we assumed that this new driver might have some kind of clone detection.

    Nevertheless a test on a Blackbox,which took place,couldn't confirm this assumtion.
    The Blackbox was working without any problems in our tests.
    And honestly:Why shouldn't we use a driver that without any doubt brought many improvments for the users of the DM500.
    We also decided to keep on using this driver in our DM500 images.
    This has to reasons...
    First:Why should regular DM500 users be punished by not getting improvements for their box.
    Second:Anyone who now still puts the gemini image on their Blackbox Reciever,simply should have known better.


    What has happend:
    On the 27th of march 2008 the Gemini 4.3.1 DM500 including the new drivers was released by us.
    Since that time the so called "Time Bomb" was active and at some point started to delete the boot loader of the Clone boxes that used the image.
    An announcement was displayed that said:"Warning - clone box detected -system stop. Contact your dealer - adios amigo!"
    Afterwards the box shut down and didn't boot anymore.
    Deleted was the part that is necessary to boot software on the box,this part was under license of DreamMultimedia.
    This license includes that this part of the sofware can only be used for the Dreambox STB.
    Usage on other hardware is completly prohibited and therefor illegal!
    The problem is,that the deleted part is the,so to speak,bios.Similiar to the bios of a PC and without this bios the box won't boot.
    The weired thing about all this is,that these cloneboxes,had this DMM software pre-installed,some of them even had the Gemini image pre-installed on it.
    Which meant a DMM license violation right from the beginning.
    So it must be completly logical to everyone,that DMM(the rightful owner of this software) had to start countermessures at some point.
    We the IHAD Board and Gemini Team support this action,that was taken by DMM,but were also supprised by the harshness of the action.
    Cause as it seems the box can only be "resurected" with a hardware based operation(JTAG) that writes the booloader back to the chip.
    Which brings us right back to the license problem,cause there is no alternative,free software/bootloader made available by the manufactor of the cloneboxs for these kind of STBs.
    So it basically would be illegal too,to write the DMM software back to the chip of the unlicend STB.


    Why we decided to close the board:
    Over the last couple of days many users have registered at IHAD,that were affected by the "Time Bomb" and their insults and acusations knew no boundaries.
    And as we,after 2 days,didn't see and end to all this ,we decided to close the board.
    We just couldn't accept this kind of treatment towards us,cause we have no responsebility whatsoever,regarding the actions that were taken by DMM.
    They were the only ones that had knowledge about the countermessures that were taken.
    Nevertheless,we do take general responsebility for actively working against these clones.Which we already stated on several occasions in the past.
    We are all Dreambox fans and our hobby is made possible by the products developed and sold by DreamMultimedia and we would practically work against ourselfs,if we wouldn't act against these cloned STBs.
    It simply can not be in our interest that manufactors, that are not involved in the developing process,take profits from the real developers.
    The posting of real adresses of IHAD Team members and statements like:"I would like to pet their backs with my baseball bat."
    and such, simply were beyond all manners.
    And so we closed the doors of the IHAD board.

    Ach... Dat ze het signaal er af halen is hun goed recht, al hadden ze dat natuurlijk al veel eerder moeten doen.

    Met terugwerkende kracht factureren vind ik not done: Het is namelijk vooral Casema's eigen fout.

    ]Ik ben natuurlijk gewoon reclame aan het maken. Ik heb tegenwoordig 49% van de aandelen van Dream Multimedia en Satellietland dus dat is mooi binnenlopen zo. Mijn testbericht moet je dan ook snel weer vergeten, want ik heb niets getest maar zit die 800 alleen maar op te hemelen zodat jullie hem gaan kopen en ik er rijk van wordt. mad

    Zo, zo. Doe mij ook maar meteen een bannetje. Net zoals al die andere mensen die het aandurfden om kritiek te hebben en het zat waren dat andere merken (concurrenten van Dream) in dit z.g. objectieve forum niet aan bod (mogen) komen.


    Als je goed leest, dan zal je zien dat Gullie niet gebanned is, die de opmerking maakte over reklame.
    Pic-o-matic is gebanned vanwege zijn flauwe opmerking over bannen. Dus, leest het eerst nog maar even goed door voor je iets roept wat niet klopt...

    Waarom moeten de HD-zenders erin. Die kun je niet eens op de 7025 ontvangen. Wat je ook doet... (DVB-S2/QPSK - lock vergeet het maar)

    Wellicht omdat de DM800 ook niet heel erg lang meer op zich laat wachten? En gewoon voor de compleetheid. Er wordt hierboven aangeven dat input welkom is, dus bij deze. Het is aan Alfi om te beslissen wat hij er mee doet.

    Ik heb me aangemeld op de site van de us, en die zegt 2 maanden wachten.

    Laat wat berichtjes achter hoe die is enz.


    Ben er nu zo'n 24 uur mee bezig (nou ja, ok... ik heb nog even geslapen zo tussendoor) maar ben er erg positief mee verast. Ik heb hem een aantal WMV, AVI, mkv bestanden in o.a. x264 aan het ding gevoerd en tot nu toe speel hij alles vrolijk af. Het ziet er allemaal erg mooi uit via de meegeleverde HDMI kabel.
    Nadeeltjes tot nu toe:

    * De nieuwste firmware is niet helemaal lekker dus heb gedowngrade wink
    * Voor muziek spelen is hij niet echt geschikt. Geluid vind ik een tikkie tegenvallen.
    * Grote directories zijn niet makkelijk te doorlopen. Als er 500 entries in staan, ben je wel even bezig er door heen te bladeren.
    * Als hij een keer vastloopt, moet ik de HDMI kabel er uit halen voor ik hem opnieuw op kan starten
    * "resetten" kan alleen erg hard: stroomkabel er uit smile

    Verder streamt het ding gewoon alles zonder haperen vanaf het netwerk. En dankzij dit ding heb ik nu eindelijk een NFS server op mijn WinXP bak geïnstalleerd. Kan ik eindelijk mijn SMB shares van mijn Dreambox eens overzetten naar NFS.

    Mocht je nog vragen hebben, dan hoor ik het wel.

    Toch leuk dat ze schrijven dat je naar FTA zenders kan blijven kijken, alsof CDS daar wat mee te maken heeft.
    Nou ja, voor sommige "goedgekeurde" ontvangers moet je ook voor FTA een CDS kaart hebben....


    Ned 1,2 & 3 zijn nog altijd FTV, niet FTA, dus heb je in principe altijd nog een CD kaartje nodig.

    Daarom vin ik dat het zo stil is.. als die dingen achter 3 weken over de toonbank gaan dan moet het transport ondertussen toch al op gang zijn.
    En de eerste niet tot in de shop geraakte exemplaren zouden dan toch ook al opduiken ? (ik bedoel niet gestolen hé maar gewoon een meewerkende winkeluitbater, hoewel diefstal ook kan natuurlijk)

    Als ze nu op transport zitten (wat logisch zou zijn ALS hij er binnen 3 weken is), dan zitten ze nu op de boot vanuit China (21 tot 25 dagen), dus daar valt nog niet heel veel te "jatten" oid wink

    Mijn orginele vraag was dus hoe ik de High Definition content vanaf mijn dreambox direct kan streamen zonder het eerst op te nemen op een harddisk.

    Je kunt een html bestand maken zie bijlage, ip is natuurlijk mijn dm7025.
    Deze html plaats je op een share, in mij geval de \\dreambox\harddisk
    Linkjes van zenders achterhaald via dreambox webinterface.
    Daarna met pch kies dm share, openen bestand kies Zenders.html, kies hd zender.

    Gewoon via de fabrikant. Link zal ik hier inderdaad niet plaatsen, maar google geeft de link direct. Ik heb mij afgelopen week op de site ingeschreven en kreeg gisteren dus al de mogelijkheid om hem te bestellen.
    De euro/dollar koers is momenteel erg gunstig wink
