Lünen, 29. August 2007. Dream, the leading supplier of Linux-based set-top

boxes, is expanding its already extensive product portfolio. In addition to

many innovations related to Dreambox models already available, the new DM

100 is attracting all the attention.

The design is derived from that of the DM 600PVR; however, the new 100

model comes in a slimline format, and is only half as high. In spite of its

attractive low price of 150 Euros, the DM 100 impresses with a comprehensive

range of functions and features: Ethernet and USB connections are integrated,

as are a Smartcard and SIM-card reader.

The DM 100 features a blindscan function as well as DiSEqC 1.3, ensuring it

will find friends on a wide base, not just among satellite professionals. The

acoustic signal indicating the correct positioning of the antenna, as well as

support for mosaic pictures and Picture in Picture (PIP) and Picture in Graphic

(PIG) make installation more convenient, and provide a high level of

convenience during regular television viewing.

The DM 100 will initially be launched in a DVB-S version. For all digital cable

viewers, Dream presents the DM600 PVR, featuring a DVB-C tuner and

optional 2,5“ hard drive. In addition, it comes equipped with a new type of

security chip that prevents inferior pirate copies of the DM 600 from being

made.

The DM 7025+ provides even more convenience with immediate effect. In

comparison with its predecessor, the Plus version features an eject key for the

Common Interface slot, as well as an OLED display by Osram. The DM 500+

now features an expanded memory, providing Linux programmers with even

more scope for new software. As is the case with the DM 600, these two

Dreamboxes also come equipped with the latest security chip.

Alleen erg jammer dat er nog steeds niet gesproken wordt over de DM8000 <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> Nou ja, heb inmiddels al de Kathrein UFS910 in Duitsland besteld, die is tenminste wel verkrijgbaar!

Is er nu al bekend welke software deze gaat draaien?

 

Ik las ergens dat deze closed source zou zijn (dus geen alternatieve images), maar kan er eigenlijk nergens iets van terugvinden...

Er staat idd niets over opensource.

Ben benieuwd of ze nu zelf bepaalde CAMs hebben ingbouwd of dat je een CI nodig hebt om bv. Canal Digitaal te kijken.
