MAC OSX met NFS Share?

Hallo allemaal,

 

Ik heb mijn Dreambox op mijn MAC aangesloten en heb op de MAC met behulp van NFS Manager een NFS Share gemaakt op mijn tweede interne HD. Ik had in het begin wat problemen om de Share goed te krijgen maar na hulp van Marcel Bresink (de maker van NFS Manager) ziet de dreambox netjes de hdd folder met daar in de movie folder.

 

Ik heb alleen 1 probleem, als ik op record druk verschijnt er gelijk de melding "Opname is beëindigt wilt U de opnames terug zien" (of zoiets), als ik dan op "ok" druk zie ik de opname van 0mb. Als ik ga kijken in mijn hdd/movie folder dan zie ik niks. Ik kan dus niet opnemen.

 

Dit is het mount commando wat ik moet gebruiken om die NFS Share te zien:

 

mount -t nfs -o nolock "192.168.2.1:/Volumes/AV Disk/dreambox" /hdd

 

of

 

mount -t nfs -o nolock 192.168.2.1:/Volumes/AV\ Disk/dreambox /hdd

 

Ik heb op mijn AV Disk dus een folder dreambox met daarin een folder movie ik dus GEEN hdd folder omdat het mount commando deze aanmaakt of zo. Op de DB zie ik dus wel hdd/movie

 

Hebben jullie enig idee wat er fout is?

Klinkt als geen write rechten op de share?

Permissions staat op read and write en dat is ook zo voor de onderliggende folders.

En als je nou handmatig er eens een test file ingooit kun je die dan wel inlezen met je DB?

Je had toch gelijk, rechten stond op "treat root as user nobody" heb ik nu verandert in "treat all users as user nobody" nu werkt opname wel maar ik krijg nu een vastloper bij het afspelen.

 

Ik ga nog FF verder sleutelen.

Opgenomen file staat ook netjes in mijn MAC en ik kan hem ook met VLC bekijken.

 

Ga weer even verder met dat permissions gedoe.

I cannot really answer that question because this depends on how the Dreambox works. Every running program in a Unix system is associated with a user profile that dictates the permissions the program will have. Every user profile has a unique number, the User Identification (UID). There are always two reserved profiles, available on every Unix system, namely "root" with the UID 0 and "nobody" with the UID -2. "Root" is a preconfigured profile that has no permission restrictions whatsoever, while the "nobody" profile has absolutely no permissions.

 

The permissions across an NFS connection are handled by checking UIDs. It would be a serious security problem if a user that is "root" (0) on this own computer would automatically become "root" (0) on all other computers s/he connects to via NFS.

 

For this reason, the UID 0 is usually mapped to -2 ("map root to nobody"), and all other UID numbers must be perfectly synchronized for all computers communicating over NFS.

 

I see two possibilities:

 

a) You should check what UID the Dreambox uses when creating files. If you then create a new user with the same user ID on the Mac, everything should work fine. A new user can be created with System Preferences, the UID can be modified with NetInfo Manager. It may also be possible to set the UID on the Dreambox side.

 

An alternative is to set the option "map all users to x", where x is your own account name on the Mac. In this case the Dreambox is allowed to act with the same permissions you have when working with the Mac.

 

Note that you may have to reboot both machines for changes

to take effect if you change UIDs or mapping settings.
