Dutch friend tell me had seen very lot of traffik on Gamma software here, and will be very interested in feedbak from all of you so I can make better software!

I may seem a little daft asking you this question, but what does the magic module exactly do i have just my new manhattan

DSR 5500 CI-M with an embedded s*c* module, at the same time i got a vi*cess modulle so i still have a slot left, can i use it and what can see more.

Please an answer to a confused satelit-vieuwer.

Do you anticipate that the Magic cam will work with original Skys cards?(video guard)I have a Free to vieuw card (for the BBC channels) and would love to have it working on my Humax.

Have you already been given feedback with the magic module and an Topfield receiver ?

 

I have this combination, and have some problems swithing between the encryptions.

 

If in Irdeto mode it works ok, then when switching to seca, no image, after reboot topfield, then I have image. Same for the other types of encryption. Software problem ? Have tried many type's of 3in1 files, but that doesn't make a difference..

 

Anyway, A very nice piece of Hardware and good software so far..

The Magic Module is doing fine I believe, but there are some slight problems on various STB's <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frons]" src="images/icons/frown.gif" /> :

(of course I'm using the recommended fun-files)

 

On my Echostar AD3000ip: no matter what channel or encryptionsystem I'm on, the STB gives an image on screen with some vibration and blocks (somethimes a green background appears for a moment) like when the signal is not the way it should be. However I can assure you the signal is not the problem. Other CIM's are doing all right.

 

Then furthermore I would have to emphasize the problem mentioned regarding the Topfield 4000PVR.

In this receiver the Magic Module has huge problems decrypting PPV-channels other then I*_*o. Also resetting this STB is needed a lot while zapping through the (encrypted-)channellist.

However the channels with I*_*o-encryptionsystem are doing fine all the time.

 

In my Humax the MM is doing O.K. but occasionally needs a reset too.

 

And what's the story about Sk* and N*gr*?? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Rollende ogen]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

I have got Topfield reciver now to test, will see what is going not right. Perhaps tomorrow I can post update.

 

I working on Nagra is no big deal NDS more difficult as not I have card or reciever :-(

 

In Echostar 3000 you say is work but bad picture? Have you try also other CI slot? Happen on Humax 5400 high slot bad picture but low slot OK.

I ordered the required module and it works fine with technotrend bases dvb-s cards for pc's.

 

Is it difficult to integrate an option like the freecam to emulate? But maybe that isn't your target. I'm very pleased if the gammasoft replaces every crypt system. Those decodermodules costs a lot of money.

 

BTW the DT channels on astra are acting very strange, pink blocks effect and distorded picture view. Sound is ok.

 

I actually searched a lot on the net to find developer software for this board but found nothing. Even the german website is very plain.

What programming language do you use and what developer tools do you recommend?

I ve got the module here, in a Humax 5400 it is working with 0.4.gamma software with original seca card and irdeto. With 0.5 gamma only funfiles and no seca original... Also i saw he is not auto update and you can not view the provider list in the c.i menu? is that correct?

 

I hope you keep up the good work to make it a perfect allcam if possible, thank you for the good work and i hope you like this kind of feedback.

I'm still awaiting my magic module so I haven't seen anything on/with it yet. But I too, would love it if the software would become Open Source.

It would allow others to build whatever they need (Given the right knowledge, of course).

I think am speaking on behalf of everyone when I say Welcome to this board ! I think it is good that the makers of soft- and hardware listen to the daily users of the particular product.

 

I have bought a Magic Module as well and my experiences are that it is very difficult to

discover what the module exactly does, for which encryptions, which cards and with which files.

 

So I think it is good that you explain how far the software is, what your test configuration is and most of al if it makes any difference which files are used.

 

Now when a question is posted everyone is speaking of special files and settings.

The rumor is that your software and hardware is also "doing" original Sky cards.

Can you confirm this ?

 

I think when you make these things clear and public and also a roadmap of new things to implement in the existing software , 99% of the questions on this board about the Magic Cam are

answered.

I have the topfield TF4000PVR and Magic CAM combination.

 

I can only watch some of the sec* channels. I know the keys are OK because the same keys work in an Ast*n CAM.

I am not sure, but the magic CAM often crashes when a channel is received that it cannot decode. Switching back to a channel that normally can be decoded the TF4000 shows "service is not running or scrambled" message.

TF4000 still is able to displays FTA channels though. So TF hasn't crashed. Ejecting and inserting the Magic CAM often helps to get the thing going again.

I used the 3in1 that was in the same zipfile as the gamma05 firmware and used ISVEdit to set the card to 0-international.

 

Inserting a g*ldcard with sec* keys for the most important channels also gave me some of the channels. Most of them produced the "service is not running or scrambled" message.

The g*ldcard in the Ast*n CAM works flawless on all sec* channels.

 

At the moment my Magic CAM is basically useless in combination with my TF40000. I inserted the Ast*n CAM again. The Magic CAM is waiting for an update.
