Asharq Discovery is begonnen met een testuitzending

De nieuwe lineaire zender Asharq Discovery is begonnen met een free-to-air ( FTA ) proefuitzending in high-definition ( HDTV ). De testuitzending kan worden afgestemd vanaf de Badr 4 -satelliet ( 26°O ), die met zijn signaal de EMENA-regio (Europa, het Midden-Oosten en Noord-Afrika) bestrijkt.

Het promotiemateriaal van de zender geeft nog geen specifieke datum aan voor de scherpe start van het programma. De uitzending wordt uitgezonden in MPEG-4 in HD-resolutie (1920x1080) met een geluidskwaliteit van 128 kbit/s (MPEG).

Asharq Discovery is een nieuw project van Warner Bros. Discovery en SRMG, de grootste mediagroepen in de MENA-regio. Het is bedoeld om kijkers premium content te bieden die bestaat uit duizenden uren aan programmering, waaronder originele producties, premières en exclusieve sessies over popwetenschap en techniek, autorijden en turbo, natuur en natuur, avontuur en reizen, reality en lifestyle, documentaires over misdaadmysteries.

Mir 24 en Moskva 24 van nieuwe frequentie

Russische nieuws- en informatiekanalen Mir 24 en Moskva 24 zijn verplaatst naar nieuwe uitzendparameters op de Yamal 402 ( Yamal 402 ) telecommunicatiesatelliet, op een positie van 55°O. Uitzendingen worden nog steeds free-to-air ( FTA ) aangeboden.

Tot nu toe werden beide stations uitgezonden op de frequentie 12.705 V. Het minipakket met beide genoemde programma's wordt nu uitgezonden op de frequentie 11.654 V.

Programma's worden uitgezonden in MPEG-4 in SD-resolutie (720x576).

ASTRA 28,2° Oost:

The first stage of the BBC HD satellite upgrade starts on Tuesday 24th January when the first regions migrate on Sky and Freesat.

Viewers in the south of England, including the former Oxford TV region, will become the first in England to see their regional BBC One switch to HD on channel 101.

At the same time, Northern Ireland becomes the first UK nation to move to all-HD broadcasting of BBC One and BBC Two on satellite.

Meanwhile, viewers with older standard definition satellite receivers will be switched to BBC One Nightlight. This is a special version of BBC One without local news programmes. During regional programmes, viewers will see a message advising them of the change.

All regions will be upgraded by the end of March.

The second batch of changes will occur on the week commencing 13th February, with viewers in London, East and East Midlands set to be upgraded. Further changes will follow in further stages until the end of March. By the week commencing 27th March, all BBC One regions will be available in HD on satellite, plus BBC Alba HD, BBC Parliament HD and BBC RB1 HD.


The BBC is clearing Astra 2E transponder 48 (10818 V) so it can launch further regional versions of BBC One in HD.

This means the end of the following SD services on 24th January 2023:

BBC Two NI SD

BBC One South SD

This following service on 10818 V has already closed:

BBC One Oxford SD (following recent cuts to BBC One regional services)

The following service has already moved off 10818 V:

BBC One South West SD (moved to 10773 H)

The following services will move from 10818 V to 12422 H:

Sky and Freesat receivers will be automatically updated when these changes are made.

Once 10818 V is cleared it will be switched to DVB-S2 and begin broadcasting HD channels. These are due to go live on Sky and Freesat by mid-February following a period of testing:

Programmaposities met de namen Test, Test1, Test2, Test3 en Test4 worden uitgezonden op frequenties van respectievelijk 11,804 GHz. 11,938GHz. Uitzendingen op alle posities worden gecodeerd door systemen voor voorwaardelijke toegang die worden gebruikt door freeSAT, Hongarije's Direct One en Roemenië's Focus Sat.

Bij de frequentie van 11,804 GHz is er één MPEG-4/SD-testpositie genaamd "Test" en deze bevat drie optionele audiotracks - Tsjechisch, Engels en Hongaars, evenals DVB-ondertiteling in het Zweeds. Uitzendingen worden versleuteld door Nagra MA ( CAID 1815, 181D), Conax (CAID 0B02), Irdeto (CAID 0653, 0D97) systemen die worden gebruikt door freeSAT en ook Nagra MA (CAID 1882, 1886) en Conax (CAID 0B1C) eigendom van Slovak Telekom .

De andere vier MPEG-2/SD-testposities bevinden zich op een frequentie van 11,938 GHz. Positie Test1 bevat Engelse en Hongaarse audiotracks en optionele DVB-ondertiteling in het Roemeens. De Test2-positie biedt optionele audio in het Tsjechisch, Engels, Hongaars, Russisch en Turks. Optionele DVB-ondertiteling in het Bulgaars is ook beschikbaar. Test3 biedt audio in het Tsjechisch en Engels. Er is ook een aanbod van optionele DVB-ondertiteling in het Nederlands, Bulgaars, Grieks, Kroatisch, Roemeens, Sloveens en Servisch. Test4 biedt audio in het Engels en Hongaars. Ondertiteling is hier alleen beschikbaar in het Roemeens.

Test1 tot Test3 worden versleuteld door dezelfde CA-systemen van freeSAT als op de 11.804 GHz-frequentie. Test4 gebruikt alleen CA-systemen Nagra MA (CAID 1802, 1880), behorend tot het Hongaarse en Roemeense DIGI.

De programmapositie van Test4 is virtueel ten opzichte van Test1. Dus het zal hetzelfde kanaal aanbieden.
