Companies Forge Working Relationship for Pay TV Markets

Tel Aviv, Israel & Oslo, Norway, June 5, 2001 - Scopus Network Technologies, a leading provider of digital compression technology to the broadcasting industry, and Conax AS, a leading supplier of conditional access technologies for digital content, announced today that they have successfully integrated Scopus’ CODICO platform with Conax AS’s conditional access system. The new working relationship will offer digital TV broadcaster end-to-end solutions for pay TV applications.

 

Scopus’ ability to integrate Conax Conditional Access System, enables the Company to enhance its end-to-end compression and transmission solutions for digital content towards new segments of the digital video broadcasting markets and offer its CODICO® platform to clients deploying Conax CA systems. The core of the integrated solution consist of DVB-Simulcrypt compliant components such as the CONAX-CAS3® Conditional Access and Scopus’ CODICO RTM-3600 statistical multiplexer. Other Scopus platforms in the solution include the E-1100 encoder and the IRD-2600 with Common Interface or the IRD-2800, Scopus’ 4:2:2 profile decoder with Common Interface.

 

CONAX-CAS3® is Conax’s Conditional Access System designed to meet the challenges of digital television. It is a full Conditional Access System for DVB/MPEG-2 transmissions, designed for applications like satellite feeds to cable head ends, contribution links, closed user groups and large DTH operations.
